Plan structure
Stairstep breakaway plan
A plan where participants climb ranks by volume and high-rank groups break away from their upline.
Also: breakaway plan
The oldest plan type. Participants advance through ranks (the stairs) as group volume grows. When someone reaches a leadership rank, their group breaks away from the sponsor's group; the sponsor stops earning level commissions on it and instead earns a smaller override on the whole breakaway group.
Stairstep breakaway plans reward developing leaders but create a moment where the sponsor's income drops. Ask how much is lost at a breakaway and what qualifies the sponsor to keep the override.
