Plan structure

Matrix plan

A plan with fixed width and depth, such as 3×7, where extra recruits spill over.

Also: forced matrix

A matrix plan limits how many people can sit directly under a participant (width) and how many levels pay (depth). A 3×7 matrix allows three on the first level and pays seven levels deep, for a maximum of 3,279 positions.

Once a level is full, new recruits spill over to the next open position. Matrix plans are sometimes marketed on spillover: "your upline fills your matrix for you". In practice, positions fill only if the upline keeps recruiting.
