FTC Act Section 5

Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act is the basis for most FTC cases against direct selling companies. Deceptive earnings claims, misrepresenting the business opportunity and operating a pyramid scheme are all pursued as unfair or deceptive practices under it.
