Autoship is a standing order that ships and charges every month. Plans frequently tie bonuses or discounts to being on autoship, and it is the easiest way to guarantee active status.

For the participant it converts a variable expense into a fixed one. When estimating what a plan really costs, the autoship amount is usually the right starting number.
