How we read this statement
All figures are before expenses. Amway does not deduct product purchases, tools, shipping, events or samples.
Median is intentionally empty. Amway publishes no median for all participants. The two medians in the statement ($4,854 and $551) cover only the top 10% and top 50% of those who received a payment, which is a far narrower base than the full participant count. Using either as a median for all IBOs would misstate the document.
The 38% share is Amway’s own definition: IBOs who had no reported product sales, did not sponsor another IBO, and received no payments. That is narrower than "received nothing", so the true share receiving nothing is at least 38%.
The $750 figure is an average, covering all U.S. IBOs at the Founders Platinum level and below, and includes those who reported no product sales. A separate average of $1,161 covers only those who reported sales.
Amway also reports that 59% of U.S. IBOs received a payment in at least one month. That share is not one of the four normalized figures and is kept in the original table below.
